Cask Types

Creating a new cask type with Inventory tracking assumes that you have already purchased empty casks and checked them in using the standard Odoo Procurement & Inventory Operations.

To create a new cask type:

• MasterDistiller > Configuration > Cask Type
• You will be presented with a Kanban of existing Cask Types

• Click “New”
• You will be presented with the Cask Type Form View

• Select the Cask Category from the dropdown (New categories can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes)
• Select the Wood Type from the dropdown (New wood types can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes)
• Select the Previous Distillery / Producer from the dropdown (New previous distillery/producers can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes )
• Select the grape Variety (New grape varieties can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes )
• Select Region from the dropdown
• Select Country from the dropdown
• Select Cask Size from the dropdown (New Cask Size can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes )
• Select Cask Volume (New Vessel Volumes can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes )
• Any notes where required can be added
• If you wish to track the inventory item associated with the empty casks of this type select this from the ‘Inventory Item’ dropdown 
• Click the cloud save Icon

The two smart buttons at the top for ‘Assets’ and ‘Casks’ can be used to locate any assets or filled casks associated with this particular Cask Type.

Container Types

Creating a new container type with Inventory tracking assumes that you have already purchased empty casks and checked them in using the standard Odoo Procurement & Inventory Operations.

• MasterDistiller > Configuration > Container Type
• You will be presented with a Kanban view of existing container types

• Click “New”
• You will be presented with the container-type form view

• Select Container Category from the dropdown e.g. IBC, Blue Drum (New Container Categories can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes)
• Select Container Volume from the dropdown (New Vessel Volumes can be created by following the guide on MasterDistiller Attributes)
• Add any notes where required
• If tracking stock of the Inventory item for containers, select the Inventory Item from the inventory item dropdown
• Click the cloud save icon
