Material templates act as a configuration to assist in prefilling information during the check-in process in MasterDistiller. Material templates only need to be created when an entirely new product is procured for production e.g. a different variety of malt or yeast rather than a new lot of an existing material/product.

To Create a Material Template:

• MasterDistiller > Configuration > Material Templates
• You will be presented with a listing of existing Material Templates if present
  
  

• Click “New” to create a new template
• You will be presented with the Material Template Form
  
  

• Select the material type from the drop-down list
• Select the Inventory item associated with the material
• Select the stock location the material is down-dated from during production
  
  

Everything else should be pre-filled based on the Inventory setup, Click the “Cloud” save icon.

The template is ready to be used in the future to check in a new batch/lot of the given material.
